| Selecting Luggage: Look for pieces that have retractable rollers. The rollers help you lug your luggage through parking garages and airports without breaking into a sweat, and making sure they're retractable helps ensure they won't be pulled off on conveyors or other machinery during their trip through the airport handling system. Choose pieces with removable straps, so that you can take the strap off when you hand the piece over to the not-so-tender mercies of conveyor belts. Locks are also advisable, but choose a piece with one that doesn't dangle too far from the zipper for the same reasons. Before you commit to purchasing a nice, new set of luggage, you should check with your airline of choice about their particular luggage restrictions and size limits, as these have changed recently. |
